Increased Loneliness in Lockdown Study Finds

A study of 2,000 adults, conducted by Santander, found that lockdown has exacerbated the UK’s loneliness problem. Older people could be more vulnerable to feelings of loneliness and the studied showed that nearly three quarters of over 55 year-olds say they have struggled during the lockdown and two thirds admit they have not spoken to anyone about their emotions. This has been an incredibly difficult time and there are a range of resources out there to help anyone that needs it, such as Age UK’s telephone befriending service.
